Bridging Research and Practice for a Healthier Future
The Department of Public Health at Qatar University is pleased to host the first Regional Conference on Advancing Public Health Through Implementation Science—a platform dedicated to fostering communication and collaboration among implementation researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and community stakeholders.
INSPIRE 2025 brings together experts committed to the rigorous evaluation and effective implementation of evidence-based interventions (EBIs) in public health. Through knowledge- sharing and capacity-building, we aim to improve health outcomes and strengthen public health systems across the region.
Vision and Purpose
Historically, public health interventions were implemented without rigorous empirical evaluation. However, in recent decades, research has demonstrated the importance of evidence- based interventions (EBIs) in addressing public health challenges. While many interventions have been developed, their successful and sustainable implementation remains a challenge.
Today, policymakers, community health providers, and researchers recognize that evidence- based interventions must be paired with effective implementation strategies to maximize impact. Training, adaptation, and continuous evaluation are essential for ensuring these interventions are integrated into health systems successfully.
To support this mission, Qatar University is committed to bridging the gap between research and practice by bringing together:
- Implementation science researchers developing and evaluating intervention strategies
- Public health professionals and policymakers integrating these interventions into practice
- Community organizations and providers applying evidence-based solutions to real-world settings
A Growing Field, A Shared Commitment
The field of implementation science is rapidly evolving. Researchers around the world are developing innovative methodologies, evaluation tools, and implementation models to improve public health strategies. However, a lack of collaboration and shared frameworks often leads to duplication of efforts and inefficiencies in scaling interventions.
This conference seeks to build a regional network of experts, fostering dialogue, knowledge exchange, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
We aim to:
- Advance the science of implementation through rigorous research
- Strengthen the use of EBIs in public health systems
- Develop standardized methodologies for evaluating implementation outcomes
- Support capacity-building for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers
- Facilitate networking among professionals in the region
Through keynote lectures, panel discussions, workshops, and presentations, we will explore best practices, challenges, and emerging trends in implementation science.
