Dr. Niveen Abu-Rmeileh is a Professor of Statistical Epidemiology at Birzeit University. Dr. Abu-Rmeileh holds a BSc in Medical Technology from Al-Quds University , a Master in Public Health from Birzeit University and a PhD in Statistical Epidemiology from University of Glasgow. She teaches a variety of courses on quantitative research methods, health statistics and population studies. Dr. Abu-Rmeileh has been involved in multicounty projects at the national, regional and international level. She is leading a team that focus on producing systematic reviews. She was part of the WHO initiatives in encouraging Implementation research in the EMRO region. Recently, she started building a team in reproductive health research. Her research interest is focused on the three broad categories: Epidemiology Non-Communicable Disease and Multi-morbidities (Mortality, Morbidity, Modelling, Knowledge to Policy), Reproductive Health (Maternal and Child Health, Adolescents Health), and Evidence Syntheses (Systematic Reviews, Scoping Reviews and Meta Analysis). Dr. Abu-Rmeileh has participated in national, regional and international research. She is a member of WHO-EMRO Research Ethics Review Committee and the EM Advisory Committee for Health Research.
