About UTHealth Houston Institute for Implementation Science

The UTHealth Houston Institute for Implementation Science is a group of healthcare professionals and students working to bridge the gap between research and real-world public health solutions. They offer training, workshops, and consultations related to implementation science.

Vice President of Population Health and Implementation Science and co-director, Dr. Maria Fernandez, currently sits on the GIS Board of Directors and has an extensive portfolio of global, federal, and state-funded research developing and improving evidence-based interventions and guidelines for the prevention and control of cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease in clinical and public health settings.
